SSA win by 7-1goals

Imphal, Jan. 22: Super Sporting Association defeated Hockey Union by 7-1 goals in the preliminary round of the 14th Dr Kanti Mukherjee Memorial Invitation Hockey Tournament organised by Hockey Manipur at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium here today.

Scorers for Super Sporting are M. Amarjit (first minute), N. Dhananjoy (18th and 31st minutes), Th. Rockey (22nd minute) H. Mani (34th minute), S. Meiraba (45th minute) and M. Dhananjoy (fifth minute).

In the second match, Cosmopolitan Youth Club defeated Youth Club cum Information Centre by 6-2 goals.

Youth Clubís N. Sanjoy scored both the goals in the fifth and 37th minutes.

For Cosmopolitan, Kh. Deveshore (17th and 44th minutes), L. Herojit (25th minute), K. Boy (33rd minute) and Kh. Ravikanta (39th and 48th minutes) scored the goals.

Equestrian: Chingkheihunba Polo Club won the junior team championís title while Khurai Polo Club won the senior championís title in the 10th Director-General Assam Rifles Cup and 4th IG Assam Rifles junior state equestrian championship, which concluded today.

Coach replaced: Shillong Lajong Football Club today terminated the services of head coach Desmond Bulpin. His assistant, Thangboi Singto, will take over as the head coach for the remaining matches of the I-League. Bulpin, a Scot,was appointed by Lajong in June last year.
