Paoli’s lonely, Puja’s in love!

COMMUNICATION GAP: Crisp cotton sari, a bindi, hair left open and a hint of junk jewellery — that’s what Paoli Dam’s Deepa will sport in Anjan Das’s Ajana Batasher Galpo, which rolls on the floors today. Based on Joy Goswami’s novella Sharojantrokari, it tells the tale of a lonely soul whose inner thoughts never get conveyed to the people around her. “I play Deepa who works for an ad agency. She is a nice and confident girl who has a boyfriend (Vikram). But Deepa somehow cannot convey her thoughts to people. Whether she is unable to or people can’t hear what she says is something I cannot reveal because that will give away the story. It’s a very complex character and I am there in every frame of the film so it’s quite challenging,” Paoli told t2 over phone from Mumbai where she is busy with the poster shoot for her second Hindi film with Team Bhatt — Ankur Arora Medical Case, produced by Vikram Bhatt. After Ankur Arora Medical Case releases, Paoli will start her third Hindi film with the Bhatts.

In Calcutta, Paoli’s next big project is Miss Shefali, based on cabaret queen Miss Shefali’s life, to be directed by Gulbahar Singh. Picture: Rashbehari Das

LOVE SICK: After Challenge2 with Dev, Puja is back opposite Soham in Raja Chanda’s Loveria, which hits screens on February 15. “I play a snooty girl with loads of attitude. I had a lot of fun shooting for Loveria. Hope people like both of us as a pair,” said Puja.
