Jaipur, Jan. 20: Deepa Das Munshi today urged the Congress leadership not to ally with Trinamul in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
At the Congress’s Chintan Shivir in Jaipur, the Raiganj MP said: “We know coalition governments and allying with regional parties are a compulsion now. But... we have seen regional parties first ally with the Congress and later form governments at our cost. Then the Congress is reduced to miniscule numbers.
“Today, the Congress has become smaller and smaller in many states in this way. So Madam (Sonia Gandhi), don’t take Trinamul along for the 2014 elections.”
