Virat now in 4000 club

The Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium, in Ranchi, became the 182nd ground in the world to host an ODI and the 42nd in India to do so.

England’s total of 155 was their second lowest total ever on Indian soil, and the third lowest against India in ODIs.

England, at one stage were 24 for one in 8 overs. They then lost their last nine wickets for 87 runs in 27.4 overs. They lost their second wicket on 68 and were eventually bundled out for 155.

When James Tredwell dismissed Yuvraj Singh on Saturday, he claimed his 18th ODI wicket. Fourteen of his seventeen wickets till now have been of left-handed batsmen.

When he was on 49, Virat Kohli registered 4000 runs in ODIs. He became the 12th Indian to achieve this milestone in ODIs. Also the second youngest (24 yrs 75 days) after Sachin Tendulkar (22 yrs 359 days) to reach this landmark. Kohli’s the quickest to the 4000-run mark, along with Vivian Richards, who also took 96 matches to do so. However, Kohli required the second least number of innings (93), after Vivian Richard’s (88 innings), to reach 4000 runs.

India’s win by 7 wickets was achieved with 131 balls to spare — the most against England. They had defeated England with 123 balls to spare in Jaipur, October 15, 2006.
