New Delhi: The internal squabbles within the AITA came out in the open on Thursday when its secretary Bharat Oza slammed one of the vice-presidents for criticising the selection of the Davis Cup squad.
“It is unethical and inappropriate for any official of AITA or any player to call the Davis Cup squad a third-rate team or third-class team,” Oza said.
He was referring to the letter written by AITA vice-president Karti P. Chidambaram. The Chennai-based official questioned the manner in which the team was selected for the tie against South Korea, after 11 top players refused to make themselves available for the tie.
