Baby swap cry
The husband of a patient at RG Kar hospital filed an FIR with Tallah police station on Friday against the superintendent of the hospital, the attending doctor, a nurse and a staff member, alleging that their newborn boy had been swapped for a girl. A case of kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, human trafficking and cheating has been registered against those named in the FIR. The hospital has set up a five-member panel to probe the incident.
Accident
A 46-year-old man died after he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a lamp post on NSC Bose Road on Thursday. A resident of Bansdroni, Subhash Dey was taken to MR Bangur hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Cab snatching
Three persons were arrested on Thursday night for allegedly posing as passengers in a share cab and robbing a fellow passenger of his cell phones at gunpoint. The incident occurred on the Bypass on January 12. The trio allegedly threw Sagiruddin Mollah, 23, a resident of Bansdroni, off the taxi when they spotted a police patrol vehicle approaching.
Rape complaint
A woman in her mid-20s was allegedly raped in an abandoned building near Thakurani Chowk in Haridevpur. A complaint was lodged against an unknown person dressed in a guard’s uniform on Friday.
