The 19th edition of the Round Table India 12’s Royal Bengal Corporate Quiz, held in association with The Telegraph at the ITC Sonar on Sunday, was a lot more than just a brainteaser. With about 29 teams from top-notch corporate firms, the quiz hosted by Derek ’Brien saw a lot of action on stage. Literally. Even as employees from the likes of TCS, Cognizant and Emami battled it out (from Calcutta, Bangalore, Chennai, Rourkela...), about Rs 13,00,000 was raised as funds to build the first floor of the Santoshpur Sri Gauranga Vidyapith in Bagnan. The quiz also saw the launch of B2B (Brick by Brick), a programme meant to raise funds to build schools across Bengal. “Through B2B, we intend to sell bricks and use the funds for the construction of schools in the state,” said Ankur Goenka, president, Calcutta Alipore Round Table (CART), the city chapter of Round Table India. CART consists of “like-minded entrepreneurs” who come together and work for social causes.
