Rebels in cop net

A Maoist sub-zonal commander with reward of Rs 50,000 on his head was arrested on Tuesday from the Banka-Godda area with three of his acquaintances.

Acting on a tip-off, Banka and Jamui police personnel combined with a CRPF team and conducted raids at Bagdhaswa, where Rakesh alias Dilip Das (32), the sub-zonal commander, lived with his family. By the time the joint operation team reached his home, Rakesh fled. Continuing with their mission, the team arrested Rakesh near the Beharni. A pistol and two cartridges were seized from him.
