Export sops

Mumbai, Jan. 14: Banks can now refinance their export credit positions through a dollar-rupee swap facility of up to $6.5 billion. The individual limits of banks would be intimated to them separately. Meanwhile, the RBI today extended the 2 per cent interest subsidy scheme for exporters in handicrafts, carpets, SMEs and certain engineering goods, by one year till March 2014.

New Delhi, Jan. 14: The IRDA has come out with standard definitions for 46 commonly used terms in health insurance and standardised 11 critical illness terms to bring in uniformity and promote health insurance.

Kingfisher

New Delhi, Jan. 14: Pilots of Kingfisher Airlines today decided to launch a hunger strike next week. Its engineers will meet in Delhi on January 20 to discuss the filing of a closure petition against the airline. Talks between the pilots and the management in Mumbai today failed to resolve the impasse.
