Speaker motivates, CM swings club
Singh to youths: strive for goals

Ranchi, Jan.12: Taking a break from the uncertainty-fraught political scenario in the state, Assembly Speaker C.P. Singh called upon the youths of the state to follow the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, whose 150th birth anniversary was celebrated today as Rashtriya Yuva Diwas.

Utho, jago aur lakhsya prapti hone tak ruko nahin (Arise, awake and do not stop till you have achieved your goal),” Singh quoted the monk in a bid to motivate hundreds of youths who had come from different blocks of the district and outside to attend a function organised by NGO Vikas Bharti in Bariatu.

According to Singh, Swamiji’s famous saying was the formula to solve every crisis in a person’s life.

“To solve mathematical problems you need several formulae, but to solve a problem in your life the one line statement of Swamiji which I repeated is sufficient,” he said.

According to the Speaker, once the youth understood the struggles Swamiji endured, they would realise why it is said that every successful person has a painful story to tell. Thus, failure would not drive them to suicide but would only make them strive with more enthusiasm and dedication.

“How long you have been in this world is not important, what is important is how you passed your life on earth,” Singh said to loud applause from those present.

Earlier, two senior RSS functionaries, khestriya pracharak Swant Ranjan and prant pracharak Mithilesh Narayan also spoke about Vivekananda’s teachings.

“Swamiji always asked people to be fearless and independent. He had great respect for women as he always saw the image of Ma Bhuvaneshwari, the symbol of kindness, Ma Bhavtarini, the symbol of power, Ma Sarada, symbol of divine love and Bharat Mata, a symbol of loving land, in them,” Ranjan said.

More than 50 youths were awarded on the occasion for their football and quizzing skills. Apart from this, around 50 students were given certificates for completion of different vocational courses provided by the NGO.

Bokaro rally

On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a colourful rally was taken out by students, teachers and staff of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir in Bokaro today.

Students carrying posters of Swami Vivekananda chanted slogans asking people to follow the teachings of the monk, who was a nationalist, scholar and reformer.

Later the students assembled on the school campus where a cultural function was held to mark the occasion.
