Calcutta: There are one too many things to look forward to in the weekend’s racing, beginning Saturday. Seventeen events, all Trophy races, will be held, with Sunday’s share being the all-important Classic, the 2,400m Eveready Derby Stakes, a Grade I race.
Saturday, too, has its share of goodies, the 1,200m Calcutta Champion’s Sprint Trophy, which has attracted 9 speed merchants. The four in the race who demand attention are Clear Mandate, River Blitz, Sunday Storm and Bullet. However, considering the reliability factor, it is the Patrick Quinn-trained River Blitz (Imran Chisty-up) who may score.
