Ravishing nights: That’s Raveena Tandon in Shobhana 7 Nights. Her first major lead role in five years has the Mast mast girl move from helpless housewife to high-society cougar. “I play a woman of substance. Circumstances and life in general change her from a loving housewife to a hardcore, street-smart woman of the world,” the ravishing mother of two had told t2 in an interview last year. Directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyay and starring Rohit Roy and Anupam Kher, Shobhana 7 Nights has made it big on the festival circuit and will release in theatres later this year.

Laugh out loud: Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has tied up with Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom for Hasee Toh Phasee , a rom-com that brings together Parineeti Chopra with Student of the Year hunk Siddharth Malhotra. “Happy to announce the new DHARMA-PHANTOM co production with @S1dharthM and @ParineetiChopra”, was the tweet from KJo two days ago. Set to go on the floors shortly, Hasee Toh Phasee will mark the Bolly debut of ad filmmaker Vinil Matthew, the man behind the Deepika Padukone- Purab Kohli Nescafe ads.

Chills and thrills: Vishal Bhardwaj has teamed up with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures for Ek Thi Daayan, the theatrical promo and first-look poster of which was unveiled on Thursday.

A supernatural thriller based on black magic and the occult, Ek Thi Daayan has become a Twitter talking point ever since the trailer hit the web world.

Said to be based on the Edward Norton-Jessica Biel 2006 film The Illusionist, Ek Thi Daayan has Konkona Sensharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ Qureshi in lead roles. The film directed by first-timer Kannan Iyer will hit screens on April 18.
