Reliance hearing adjourned

Mumbai, Jan. 11: The Securities Appellate Tribunal today adjourned hearing on Reliance Industries Limitedís appeal against Sebi till January 24 after the market regulator sought more time to study the petition in a case related to its rejection of a settlement plea by the corporate major.

Warburg stake

Mumbai, Jan. 11: Private equity firms, including Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings and KKR & Co, are separately in advanced talks to buy Warburg Pincus LLCís majority stake in Indian tyre maker Alliance Tire Group for about $400 million, sources said.

Sebi ban

Mumbai, Jan. 11: Market regulator Sebi today barred SGI Research & Analysis and its seven promoters from the capital market for 10 years for allegedly duping two lakh investors, and directed the entities to return Rs 1,500 crore along with interest.

Coal panel

New Delhi, Jan. 11: The coal ministry is planning to form a panel, which will identify coal blocks from the list of existing mines for allocation through auction and government dispensation route.

Airline profit

New Delhi, Jan. 11: Profits of airlines in most parts of the world in the third quarter of this fiscal have gone up compared with the same period last year, indicating optimism in the global financial markets, the International Air Transport Association has said.

FDI proposals

New Delhi, Jan. 11: The government today approved 14 FDI proposals worth about Rs 1,311 crore, including that of Hindustan Port Ltd. Mumbai-based Hindustan Port Ltd proposes to induct foreign funds worth Rs 440 crore for investment in downstream companies.

CMC net

New Delhi, Jan. 11: IT solutions provider CMC today posted a 47.59 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 61.06 crore for the quarter ended December.
