CAB plan

CAB is mulling the option of introducing light meters in tournaments conducted by the association. CAB treasurer Biswarup Dey said: “There are several instances when players accuse the umpires of bringing the day’s play to an early end, despite there being adequate light… Umpires are often made scapegoats. So, we are planning to introduce light meters in the later part of the season to ensure that there are no such problems.”

Sports meet

Around 500 orphans will be participating in a sports meet, organised by the Town Club, on occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, at the Taltala Institute Ground, on Saturday.
