Calcutta: Around 500 players have sent their entries for the Sunfeast Dream Cream AITA Junior Super Series, which will be held at South Club from Monday.
However, the AITA will select the players, who will play in the main draw and the qualifiers of the six-day tournament, based on the rankings.
The main draw of 32 and the qualifying draw for each of the eight categories — boys’ and girls’ U-14, boys’ and girls’ U-16, boys’ and girls’ doubles U-14 and boys’ and girls’ doubles U-16 — will be decided by the AITA.
Eight Bengal players —Angad Khosla, Hema Nama, Gaurav Reddy, Khan Bahadur Molla (boys’ U-14), Nilanjana Saha (girls’ U-14), Vikash Singh and Ishan Tebriwal (boys’ U-16) and Yubrani Banerjee (girls’ U-16) — have been given the wildcards.
Nitin Sinha and Vikas Singh are expected to lead the local challenge.
