A razzle-dazzle delight would woo Patnaites to Buddha Smriti Park every evening by the end of January.
Buddha Smriti Park, the venue for the recent international Buddhist Sangha Conference, would continue to be in the limelight. Trial runs for sound and laser shows on the campus have been completed and after a few changes in the presentation, the shows are expected to start by the end of this month. Work on a similar show has been completed at Golghar, which chief minister Nitish Kumar would inaugurate on January 14.
The shows at Buddha Smriti Park were supposed to start prior to the Buddhist Sangha Conference. However, the authorities decided to postpone it.
Sources said Calcutta-based Premiere World Private Limited the firm selected for the work recently made a presentation on the laser shows in front of Anupam Suman, the managing director of Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation. Though Suman was not available for comment, sources claimed that he was not content with the designing of the shows and asked the firm to make some changes.
The firm has been asked to make several modifications in the designing of the shows they have prepared and make a fresh presentation after 10 days. So, we expect to start the laser shows at Buddha Smriti Park by the end of this month, a park official said.
The shows would be held in the open space between the central stupa Patliputra Karuna Stupa and the meditation block. The screen would be placed close to the stupa and 5,000 viewers would sit on the stairs, which form the Park of Memories, to watch shows on the life of Buddha and Bihar. Two shows, each of 20- to 30-minute duration, would be held every evening. The shows would use music, high efficiency laser system, HD video projection, theatrical lighting, non-propane flame effects, surround sound and special effects, including bubbles/mist/smoke. The same firm, Premiere World Private Limited, has installed the laser, sound and fountain shows at Golghar. The laser show at Golghar would initially be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
