Calcutta: Michael Hussey was a relieved man after his Test career came to a close on Sunday, admitting he was looking forward to taking it easy as Australia whitewashed Sri Lanka in the final Test in Sydney.
The 37-year-old had said that the third Test against Sri Lanka would be his last before retirement. “What a place to finish. The SCG is probably my top three favourite grounds in the whole world,” Hussey said.
“The crowd support and the support in general has been a bit overwhelming and I’ve been a bit embarrassed by it. In a way I’m quite relieved that it’s over now,” he said. “The stress and pressure, I can relax away from it now. I don’t have that sick feeling in my stomach before I go out to bat.”
