United Sporting drub Dimapur

Imphal, Jan. 6: United Sporting Association defeated Dimapur Road Athletics Organisation 2-0 in the knockout round of the Sir Churachandpur Memorial Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibug today.

L. Sanatomba of United scored the first goal in the 26th minute converting a beautiful short pass from A. Dinesh.

Sanatomba also scored the second goal in the 90th plus two minute.

In the second match, Tiddim Road Athletics Union defeated Youth Organisation Sporting Club by 3-0 goals.

Th. Premkumar Singh of United bagged a hattrick. Within four minutes of the play he converted a pass from M. Meino.

He scored the second and third goals in the 24th and 48th minutes.

Women’s football: Imphal West District Football Association bagged the champion’s title in the 11th junior girls and 13th senior women football tournament yesterday, defeating Imphal East District Football Association.

In the senior girls’ last round match, Imphal West defeated Imphal East by 2-0 goals to win the champion’s title.
