Silchar pip Nagaon

Guwahati, Jan. 6: Hosts Silchar inflicted an 18-run defeat on Nagaon in today’s match of the Zaved Khan women’s inter-district cricket tournament at SM Dev Stadium in Silchar.

Silchar elected to bat first and posted 159 for nine in the 35 overs. In reply, Nagaon were all out for 141 in 33.2 overs.

For Silchar, Sunila Sinha scored 53 (4x6) and Odayabati Singha contributed 28 (4x3). Rumena Begum and L Kumari of Nagaon took two wickets each conceding 29 and 57 runs respectively.

Sabitri Urang (43, 4x4) was the topscorer for Nagaon while Rumena Begum chipped in with 27 (4x3).

Sunila Sinha and Odayabati Singha proved useful with the ball, having shared two each for 21 and 25 respectively.
