Guwahati, Jan. 6: Bokakhat tamed Hojai by nine wickets in a group B match of the JK Baruah Trophy inter-district (under-19) cricket tournament at Biswanath Chariali yesterday.
Opting to bat first, Hojai were skittled out for 54 in 35.5 overs and Bokakhat reached 57 for one in 10.2 overs, thanks to unbeaten knocks of 27 (4x5) by Ananta Doley and 13 (4x3) by Roshan Alam. Zaved Khan picked up the only wicket conceding eight runs.
Earlier, Avoy Ghosh scored 19 for Hojai while Roshan Alam and Kalam Raja of Bokakhat took four wickets each giving away 14 and 16 respectively. Prasanta Haloi also claimed two for three runs.
In a group A match in Tinsukia, Hailakandi crushed Dibrugarh by 71 runs the same day. Hailakandi, opting to bat first, were all out for 109 in 48.3 overs and Dibrugarh were later skittled out for 38.
At Mangaldoi, Lakhimpur handed an eight-wicket defeat to hosts Mangaldoi in a group D match yesterday.
Mangaldoi elected to bat first and were bundled out for 77 in 39.4 overs with Manjot Singh Anand scoring 14 (4x2).
Amar Alam of Lakhimpur hauled four wickets for 30 runs.
Lakhimpur rode unbeaten knocks of 29 runs each by Gautam Chhetri and Iqbal Ansari to reach 81 for two in 18.3 overs.
Raju Rabha picked up both wickets for 14 runs.
