2 die in mishap
Tezpur, Jan. 5: Bablu Dutta, 28, and Tunkan Jyoti Saikai, 19, died on the spot at Hatigaon Machkhowa in Dhemaji district when the bike in which they were travelling collided with a Siliguri-Silapathar passenger bus at noon today.
Screening

Sivasagar: Normalcy returned to Hingorajan tea estate near Bhojo in the district on Saturday after owner Purushottam Modi promised to look into the workers’ grievances.
Drowned
Tezpur: A picnicker, Moon Saikia of Bihpuria, drowned in the Brahmaputra when the boat he was travelling in with three others capsized at Dhalpur Jamugurihat in Lakhimpur district. The three others were rescued, police said.
