Guwahati, Jan. 4: Karbi Anglong registered back-to-back wins beating NF Railway by 34 runs in today’s group B match of the Umananda Bora Trophy inter-district (under-13) cricket tournament at Nehru Stadium here.
Opting to bat, Karbi Anglong, who beat Titabor yesterday, were all out for 101 in 27.4 overs and the NF Railway boys were skittled out for 67 in 37.4 overs. Anil Sharma topscored for Karbi Anglong with a steady 22 (4x2). Akash Chhetri and Hira Chhetri of NF Railway shared four wickets each, conceding 29 and 32 runs respectively. For NF Railway, none of the batsmen could score in double digits. Jaigi Sabya Singh and Hira Chhetri scored eight runs each to be the topscorers. Arup Dey and Rohan Engti of Karbi Anglong shared three wickets each, giving away 11 and 16 runs respectively. In another match of group A at Barsapara Stadium here, Nalbari handed a four-wicket defeat to Lakhimpur.
Lakhimpur elected to bat and were all out for 106 in 23.1 overs. In reply, Nalbari reached 107 for six in 29.2 overs. Angadudip Gogoi (58, 4x10) was the only notable scorer for Lakhimpur while 31 runs came in as extras.
Abhinash Barman of Nalbari hauled five for 24 and Sanjeev Kumar Kashyap notched up three for 11. Nihal Deka and Nivir Deka of Nalbari scored 32 runs each. Ram Gopal Taid of Lakhimpur picked up three wickets for 20 runs.
