Patna: The high court division bench of Chief Justice Rekha M. Doshit and Justice A. Amanullah on Friday imposed a cost of Rs 1,000 on the Legislative Assembly for its delay in filing an appeal against an order passed in November 2010.
The Assembly has filed an appeal after 660 days, challenging a single bench order that held a retired person and a member of a state legislature is entitled to get pension from the place where he or she worked and the Legislative Assembly/Legislative Council. The court, dissatisfied with the explanation of the counsel, directed the petitioner to deposit the cost only after which the appeal would be heard, said defendant Raghav Prasad against whom the Assembly had filed its appeal.

Patna: A high court bench on Friday asked the director of primary education to appear before it on January 9 to explain reasons for not complying with its order, directing the department to pay teachers of minority or aided schools the revised pay benefits.
Patna: Power would be snapped for three hours from 11am on Saturday in areas such as road Nos. 1-8 of Indira Nagar, road Nos. 1-5 of Rajendra Nagar, Jagat Narayan Road, east and west Lohanipur, Kadamkuan, Nala Road, Dariyapur, Gola Road and others because of maintenance work of 33KV feeders of Pesu I & II and Karbigahiya and Rajendra Nagar power sub-stations.
