Students get ready for poll

Second-year students of Patna Women’s College filed their nominations for the institution’s student cabinet on Friday.

Nominations were filed for 13 posts in the students’ cabinet — premier, vice-premier, general secretary, joint general secretary, joint general secretary (science), joint general secretary (vocational), cultural secretary, joint cultural secretary, sports secretary, joint sports secretary, public relations, environment & discipline secretary and joint environment and discipline secretary.

The Part II students across the different courses — eligible for election and voting — filed their nomination after an orientation by principal in-charge Sister Jessie, sources said.

The students’ cabinet members are responsible for discipline and activities in the college round-the-year. The members would manage cultural and also collect funds to organise the college functions.

Candidates would get only Saturday for campaigning, as Sunday is a holiday. The candidates would campaign in classrooms.

The students will finally vote on Monday and the results would be declared on the same day.
