Airman found dead

Bhagalpur: The body of Indian Air Force officer Om Prakash Singh, 32, was found on Wednesday at his home in the Bikhanpur area of the town. Police suspect he hanged himself after an altercation with his wife.

Sinha was posted in Chandigarh as an airman and was on leave. The body has been sent for autopsy.

Case order

Siwan: Chief judicial magistrate Amar Jyoti Srivastava has taken cognisance and ordered an extortion case against BJP MLA Vikram Kunwar and his bodyguard for threatening Gambhirar village resident Vimalesh Singh and demanding Rs 2 lakh from him.

Murder

Begusarai (PTI): A BJP worker was killed at Cheria village under the jurisdiction of Bhagwanpur police station on Wednesday. The body was found near the Gandak and has been sent for post-mortem, said police.

Patna: The high court on Wednesday asked the education department principal secretary and vice-chancellors of all universities to file their respective show-cause replies on a bunch of contempt petitions filed by college and university teachers seeking direction to authorities for payment of revised pay scale in the light of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

Patna: Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Ltd deputy general manager H.R. Pandey on Wednesday said the company has transferred five executive electrical engineers in different divisions of the state.
