Calcutta: The I-League core committee meeting that was supposed to be held on January 9, at the Capital, has been deferred due to Mohun Bagan’s appeal to the All India Football Federation executive committee last Monday to review the suspension order served against the club till the 2014-15 season.
On Tuesday, a Bagan official said: “Normally, a review tends to defer these kind of meetings. Besides, on our part, we had made ourselves very clear and had categorically mentioned all the relevant points to serve our purpose.”
In the core committee meeting, Bagan could place their view points in regard to the factors relating to the amount of compensation, extension of the suspension, and additional sanctions and fines, if any.
A fresh date of the meeting, though, will be finalised soon.
Meanwhile, Bagan maintain that they are yet to receive anything in writing from the AIFF regarding the showcause of Okolie Odafe.
The Nigerian was showcaused for misbehaviour with referee Vishnu Chauhan during the December 9 I-League Derby, which led to his marching orders, apart from inciting the crowd that had resulted in lathi charge by the police and the game not going beyond the first half.
“We are yet to receive anything in writing as far as the showcause is concerned.
“We are keeping a track on everything and will act in due course of time,” the official added.
