Lady beaten

Calcutta, Jan. 1: A woman was severely beaten up in Topsia by a mob that accused her of trying to steal a baby from a slum.

The lady has been admitted to Chittaranjan National Medical College Hospital with critical injuries. This is the fourth time a woman has been assaulted in the area in the past two weeks on the suspicion of baby-lifting. One of the women died.
