Calcutta: Manoj Tiwary will be returning to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore on January 6 for another round of tests, which will certify whether he has recovered completely from the side strain during the Bengal-Saurashtra Ranji match.
Tiwary had scored a fluent 55 before the strain curtailed his knock midway.
“A day after I reach Bangalore, I’ve to undergo fitness tests that include all three departments of the game — batting, bowling and fielding.
“A week later, the physios there will certify if I’m 100 per cent fit or not,” said Tiwary, who was present on the first day of the Bengal-Railways tie here, at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus ground.
The Bengal captain sounded confident of regaining full fitness before the selection of the India squad for the Australia series.
