Munda nod for eight roads

Ranchi, Dec. 29: Chief minister Arjun Munda today gave his nod for completion and repair of eight roads across the state at an expense of around Rs 100 crore.

The eight stretches that will get a facelift under the project are the Dumka Rampur Haat Road, Chaibasa-Tantnagar-Kumardungi-Majhgaon Road, Bhusar-Kechki-Barwadih-Bhandaria-Godarmana Road, Littipara-Pakur Road, Chas-Ramgarh Road, Ranchi-Gumla-Virmitrapur Road, Koderma-Jamua Road and Simdega-Jaldega-Hurda-Girda-Manoharpur Road.

Apart from this Munda also approved 11 plans of the industry department, worth more than Rs 5 crore, for construction of 225 cocoon storage houses and setting up of hot air dryers and strengthening of drainage system. The plans, all associated with the handloom, silk and handicraft directorate, also include assistance to seed rearers, 15 units of door-to-door service providers, construction of toilets, restrooms and crèches for women, payment of village level resource person, augmentation of tasar, computer aided textile designing and training in press and electronic media.
