Coolest rest pad for TTEs

The East Central Railway got its first AC resting room for train ticket examiners (TTEs) on Friday.

The existing room at Dhanbad station was renovated at a cost of 8.5 lakh and air-conditioners installed. The all-new facility was inaugurated by divisional railway manager (DRM), Dhanbad, East Central Railway, Sudhir Kumar, around 11am. Others present included senior divisional commercial manager, East Central Railway, Dayanand, senior divisional operating manager Ved Prakash and train travellers’ inspector Asif Wali.

“A resting place for TTEs, equipped with facilities like beds, urinals, toilets and bathrooms, was the need of the hour. This facility, which is the first AC room for TTEs of East Central Railway, has been developed as a model for the entire division,” Kumar said.

Dayanand said the room had two ACs and 16 beds. “We have plans to develop similar resting places by renovating the existing ones at Gomoh, Barkakana, Choupan and Singrauli stations,” he added.

Dayanand also said reservation charts were being displayed on LCD screens on a trial basis at Dhanbad station. “It will be made regular from New Year,” he added.
