Behrampore, Dec. 28: Trinamul minister Humayun Kabir today tendered an unconditional apology to “people and the chief minister” for abusing a construction firm manager over phone.
But the junior animal resource development minister denied that he had threatened to abduct the manager as alleged by him.
“I had called up the manager and used some foul words. I apologise to people and the chief minister,” Kabir told reporters in Behrampore.
He added: “But I will not apologise to manager Santu Sinha. He has lodged a false complaint against me.”
Sinha today lodged a complaint with Behrampore police against the alleged threat call. On December 22, he had lodged an FIR accusing Kabir and his aides of trying to “obstruct the laying of a road” by his company.
Sinha had quoted Kabir as telling him over phone after the December 22 complaint: “If you don’t withdraw the complaint, I will pick you up from Behrampore and fix you. No one’s father will be able to prevent that.”
