Jaigaon, Dec. 27: A 14-year-old girl died today when she was attacked by an elephant that entered her home in a village in Malbazar subdivision of Jalpaiguri.
Her father was injured while trying to rescue the child.
Two jumbos entered the village in search of food early this morning. “One elephant entered the girl’s house at 2.30am and wrapped the sleeping girl in its trunk and tossed her to the ground. She died on the spot,” a villager said.
