Ranchi, Dec. 26: Jharkhand co-ordination committee chairman Shibu Soren today said he was unaware that the panel had called a meeting on December 29, claiming he was not informed about it by chief minister Arjun Munda who left for Gandhinagar to attend the swearing-in of his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi.
Incidentally, after meeting his deputy Hemant Soren, Munda had yesterday said that the committee would meet on December 29 to find amicable solutions to the question of power sharing and address JMM’s demands.
“I have no idea about the December 29 meeting. The chief minister, too, has not told me about it. In fact, I haven’t spoken to him on any issue in the recent past,” JMM chief Shibu Soren told a select group of newspersons today.
He also claimed that while working out a plan to form a coalition government in Jharkhand over two years ago, BJP heavyweights had agreed to head the regime alternately with JMM for 28 months each.
The meeting was held at his Morabadi residence and Ajsu members too were present, said Soren, though he did not specify the date or month.
He also did not name the participants. “The meeting was held here. Ajsu leaders, too, were present. Our (JMM) demands are not unjustified.”
Soren also expressed reservations about the delay in felicitating the pioneers and martyrs of the statehood movement. He advocated rehabilitation of their dependants. A panel led by Ajsu chief and deputy chief minister Sudesh Mahto has already been working on a rehabilitation package, but is yet to make a breakthrough.
Meanwhile, Munda will take part in a National Development Council meeting in Delhi. On Friday, he will attend a meeting that will be presided over by the Prime Minister.
