Calcutta: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), on Tuesday, has invited VVS Laxman for the January 3 one-dayer. “Eden Gardens is like Laxman’s second home. He may not be a former captain, but we have decided to felicitate him on that day, along with other former India and Pakistan captains,” CAB treasurer Biswarup Dey said. Laxman, though is yet to confirm.

Karachi: Hanif Mohammed, on Tuesday, rated Sachin Tendulkar better than Donald Bradman and described him as the best batsman he has seen in his life. “I’m one of those fortunate people who have seen Bradman and Tendulkar bat in my lifetime. And in my opinion Sachin is the best batsman I have seen in my life,” Hanif said.

He will submit his report to Praful Patel. According to sources, Ganguly, who met both Bagan and AIFF officials on Monday, has completed his report. Based on his judgement, the AIFF will take a final decision on the subject.
