Hrishitaa-Rohit’s Passion Play In Mrs Sen

FIRSTLOOK

Kiss and tale: “I was very comfortable with the smooching scenes in Mrs Sen,” Hrishitaa Bhaat told t2 over phone from Mumbai.

Hrishitaa plays Sohini Sen in Agnidev Chatterjee’s Mrs Sen and Rohit Roy plays her husband. The film also stars Rituparna Sengupta. “I am not supposed to reveal the story. All I can say is that there are two Mrs Sens in the film!” she added. The intimate moments between Hrishitaa and Rohit will be seen during a montage song sequence in Bangkok. “Through the song sequence the husband-wife relationship is established,” she added.

Arpita was supposed to play Sohini before Hrishitaa stepped in. “Well, Arpita had date issues and so I thought of casting Hrishitaa. I had seen her in an ad film and found her eyes very expressive. She has done a wonderful job.... But unlike my last films (Charuulata 2011 and 3 Kanya), Mrs Sen has very few bold scenes. It’s an emotional journey of three individuals — Rituparna, Rohit and Hrishitaa. The bold scenes are there only in one song sequence,” said Agnidev.

Hrishitaa had worked in Rani Mukerji’s brother Raja Mukerji’s Bengali debut Bidhataar Lekha six winters ago. “Mrs Sen is just the kind of film I had been waiting for and trust me it was all because of Agnida (Agnidev) that I could pull off the intimate scenes so well,” she laughed.
