Beauty pro Bridgette Jones tries three Christmassy looks on daughter Danielle. t2 was a part of all the fun at her Calcutta Club salon
1. The winged eyeliner and classic red lips look
I applied foundation and then used black gel eyeliner to create the winged look. Then I applied loads of mascara and dusted rose-pink blusher to define Danielle’s cheekbones. I finished the look with red lipstick. Danielle wore her hair sleek and straight. You can try two different looks from this one by just changing your lipstick!
Top tip: For the perfect wing, first line the bottom of your eye and draw a straight line, extending it from the lower lid to the length of the wing you want. Line your upper lid and join it with the extended line on the lower lid.
2. The hot pink lips look
Hot pink has been trending in the beauty world lately. The idea is to keep it simple with bright-coloured lips. Go easy on the eye make-up, especially if you are wearing it as a day look. Do not overdo the blush either. Too much pink doesn’t look nice on anyone! For this look, all I did was change her red lips into hot pink ones. On someone dusky, the hot pink looks neon and even more attractive. I did a two-minute messy updo... so beautifully messy! You can go crazy with hair accessories. I put hair extensions in neon colours.
Top tip: When you are buying your hot pink lipstick, ensure that it doesn’t have a purple tinge to it. Then it gets a bit vampy!
3. The eye glitter look
When it comes to sparkle, it’s best to focus on one feature. I applied a thin line of glitter eyeliner over the gel liner. Bare lips work best with this kind of a look. You need nothing more than a nude lipstick. Over the pink blush, I brushed some bronzer. Perfect look for a candlelit dinner! To go with it, we did a Boho side-braid, which is very elegant, casual and feminine.
Top tip: In keeping with the Christmas colours, you can also go gold on the eyes.
Spread over 800sq ft, the second outlet of Bridgette Jones Fashion Salon opened doors at Calcutta Club in August. Located next to the pool, it has been done up predominantly in white and glass with a touch of silver and wood. “They wanted a brand and it was nice. I was looking forward to work with a set of very well-placed ladies of Calcutta, the old-school ladies who are used to good and classy work,” smiled Bridgette. And the members are lapping up the services. t2 met a happy mother and daughter duo — Nayanika and Niharika (5) Dasgupta. “We are so glad. The professional touch is important because at Calcutta Club you expect the best! My daughter looks forward to her next trip to the salon,” smiled Nayanika as little Niharika enjoyed her shampoo (picture below).
