East London: Half-centuries by Henry Davids and stand-in captain Faf du Plessis took South Africa to 165 for five after being put in to bat by New Zealand in the second Twenty20 on Sunday.
Davids made 55 from 38 balls with seven fours and a six in his second international after debuting in the series-opener. Thriving on his promotion to T20 captain, Du Plessis made 63 in partnerships of 68 with Davids and 79 with David Miller (33) in a game reduced to 19 overs per side after a floodlight failure
