Math learning with a twist in Durgapur

Durgapur, Dec. 23: Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Durgapur, organised a seminar on the topic “to generate teaching-learning process in math” to commemorate the National Year of Mathematics and the 125th birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan at Srijani auditorium at City Centre yesterday.

The school organised the seminar to pay homage to the mathematician.

The guest speaker at the seminar was C.K. Ghosh, director, National Centre for Innovations in Distance Education, IGNOU.

The seminar was organised under the patronage of the Bengal chapter of Sahodaya School Complex, a national association of CBSE schools.

About 100 students from 14 schools in Burdwan and an equal number of teachers participated in the seminar.

After the welcome address by Subrata Chattopadhaya, the principal of Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, the teachers and students made a presentation on mathematics. Soumyajit Ghosh Dastidar and Ankita Pradhan, both Class XI students of the school, delivered a speech on the life history of Ramanujan.

One of the teachers, Subrata Mukherjee, delivered a speech on history of zero and a skit was presented on the Operation Of Zero.
