9-wicket win for Ankuryoti

U-14 cricket

Guwahati, Dec. 20: Ankurjyoti Cricket Academy today inflicted a nine-wicket defeat on River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre in their group league match of the Ashwini Rajbangshi Trophy Ankurjyoti Challenge under-14 cricket tournament at Latasil playground here.

Batting first, the River Rine boys were skittled out for 65 in 13.2 overs and Ankurjyoti batsmen cantered to 69 for one in just 5.2 overs.

For River Rine, Simanta Sarma (15) and Arunabh Das (13) were the main scorers while Abhijeet Rabha of Ankurjyoti scalped four for eight runs. For Ankurjyoti, Sanjeev Rajak scored 30. Irfan Ahmed of River Rine picked up the only wicket.

There will be no matches played till Sunday. The semifinals of the tournament will be played on Monday.
