Picnickers dead
Sivasagar, Dec. 19: Namita Deka Bora, 40, and Puja Bora, 11, died when the bus they were travelling in from Nagaon overturned on NH 37 near Jhanji College in the district around 5.30am today. The bus was carrying a group of picnickers from Nagaon to Sivasagar. The injured were admitted to Sivasagar civil hospital.
Tuki meet
Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki on Wednesday reiterated his concern on revenue generation and its misappropriation that is hurting the state’s coffers. He was speaking at a two-day conference of deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and heads of departments here.
Shot dead
Kokrajhar: Unidentified gunmen shot dead Nirmal Barman at Dalgaon along NH 31 (C) in Kokrajhar around 11am on Wednesday.

Apprehended
Dhubri: Two Ulfa linkmen, Asif Ali Khan of Kuntirchar and Mujmil Huq of Khalimari in the district, were apprehended on Wednesday in a joint operation by the army and police.
