Tea auction

Calcutta, Dec. 19: The Indian Tea Association, through its Darjeeling branch, will conduct a charity auction at the second Darjeeling Tea & Tourism Festival on December 20, organised by the Gorkha Territorial Administration. Seven lots of whole leaf Darjeeling tea will be on sale and the proceeds will be donated for the welfare of the people of Darjeeling.

Berger stake

Mumbai, Dec. 19: UK Paints India, the largest stakeholder in Berger Paints India, has picked up an additional 3.50 lakh shares in the company for a little over Rs 5 crore. According to the NSE block deal data, UK Paints India, which held 45.56 per cent in Berger Paints India, bought the scrips from another promoter Meeta Dhingra.

UBS penalty

Zurich, Dec. 19: Swiss bank UBS swallowed a $1.5-billion fine and admitted to fraud today after a global probe revealed its staff orchestrated the manipulation of benchmark interest rates over three continents.
