Rebels held
Kokrajhar, Dec. 18: Two rebels of Muslim Protection Tiger Force of Assam — Batiruddin Sheikh and Mafizul Haq — were arrested in Kokrajhar last evening.
2 die in feud
Tinsukia: Two persons died in a family feud at Balijan village here on Monday night. Police said Bijoy Bhyuan died on the spot after being attacked by his son-in-law, Rahul Kalandi. Bijoy’s son, Chandra, attacked Rahul with a sharp weapon and killed him. Chandra is absconding.
Man killed
Jorhat: Chandra Gowala died on the spot after being attacked by his neighbour, Sattu Bauri, with a sharp weapon at Khishri colony here on Tuesday.
Suicide
Jorhat: Minakshi Basumatary, 36, wife of a railway official, was found hanging at her residence in Mariani on Tuesday.
Evidence
Jorhat: Army officials on Tuesday collected evidence as part of the court martial proceedings against four army personnel accused in the December 2011 Jorhat robbery case.
