HPL shares

Calcutta, Dec.18: Industries minister Partha Chatterjee today said the government had decided to complete the process of transferring WBIDC shares in Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (HPL) by March.

Sources said the government would ask TCG to match the price offered for the shares by the top bidder in an auction. TCG, the principal promoter, has the “first right of refusal”.

Chatterjee said the government would request SBI to grant a bail-out loan to HPL.
