Shami gets Raman pat

Calcutta: Bengal coach Woorkeri Raman is all praise for speedster Shami Ahmed.

Talking to the media on Monday, Raman said that Shami should be a regular feature in the Indian team from the middle of next year.

“Shami should be playing regularly for India from the middle of 2013,” Raman said.

Raman also heaped praise on Shami’s partner Veer Pratap Singh.

“Even Veer Pratap Singh should be playing for India in two years.”

With the win, Bengal garnered a total of 13 points and moved to the fifth spot.

Looking back at the season, Raman said that had they performed well against Madhya Pradesh — they had suffered a 138-run loss to MP — they would have been in a more comfortable situation.
