HC plea against Konwar

Patna: A contempt petition was filed in the high court against the chancellor of universities, Devanand Konwar, for allegedly violating its order quashing appointment of six VCs and four pro-VCs of various universities. The petition was filed by Ram Tawakya Singh through counsel Sunil Kumar Singh. Though the chancellor has power to appoint any person as acting VC as an interim measure, he has appointed all those six VCs whose appointments were quashed after being held illegal by the court,” Singh said.

CIMP training

Patna: Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) on Monday successfully completed Management Development Programme of around 200 district programme officers and programme officers of the education department on Monday.

Flights off

Patna: Jet Airways cancelled operation of its Calcutta-bound flight from Patna airport – S2 4403 — on Monday, scheduled to arrive at 10:05am, because of poor visibility due to fog in the morning. Go Air’s G8 385 was the first flight to land at Patna around 2pm. The flight operates on the Ranchi-Mumbai-Patna-Ranchi route and scheduled to reach Patna at 1:35pm.

Power cut

Patna: There would be a power cut for five hours from 10am on Tuesday in areas like Gaighat, Tripolia, Biscomaun, Sultanganj, Alamganj, and NMCH because of a shutdown for the maintenance of 33KV Gaighat, Meena Bazar and City feeders, Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Ltd deputy general manager (PR) H.R.Pandey said.
