Arindam confident

Calcutta: Bengal opener Arindam Das is aware that in order to cement his place in the side, he needs to perform consistently. And that is the reason for which he is utilising each and every opportunity.

He has played three matches thus far in the season and has scored 249 runs with an average of 62.25. He also scored 73 on Sunday to help Bengal take a lead of one run against Hyderabad.

After the day’s play, Arindam said that his job is only half done and a much bigger test awaits him on Monday.

“The lead has given us some psychological advantage over our opponents… At the same time, we all know that the match is headed for an outright result. So it will be important to play well tomorrow. Hopefully, I can continue in this form,” said Arindam.

Asked what will be their main objective on Monday, Arindam said: “The match is very much open. Both the teams are in with an equal chance. We want to restrict them to a small total.”
