City coaching-B win

- 84-run victory for Brahmaputra boys in another game

Guwahati, Dec. 16: City Cricket Coaching Centre (B) and Brahmaputra Boys’ Club today posted facile victories in their respective matches of the Ashwini Rajbangshi Trophy Ankurjyoti Challenge Under-14 Cricket Tournament at Latasil ground here today.

The City boys got the better of Noonmati Cricket Academy (NCA) by 59 runs while the Brahmaputra boys defeated Naharkatia Cricket Academy by 84 runs.

In the morning match, the City boys elected to bat first and posted 155 for eight in 20 overs. In reply, NCA was all out for 96 in 15.4 overs.

Abhishek Singhal with 34, Fardinul Islam with 30 and Aman Sohail with 23 were the top scorers for city coaching while Ganesh Rai of NCA scalped three for 25 and L. Kiran Sinha picked up two for 33. For NCA, Taijul Islam scored 43 and Samir Ahmed contributed 23. Arunik Choudhury of City claimed a wicket for seven runs.

In the afternoon, the Brahmaputra boys elected to bat and posted 165 for six in 20 overs, chasing which, the Naharkatia boys were all out for 81 in 15.5 overs.

Mahbubul Haq top-scored for Brahmaputra with an unbeaten 68 and Amarjyoti Das made 28. Bidyut Charingia of Naharkatia picked up one for 14.

Charingia also top-scored for the visiting side with 26 runs and Cintamoni Konwar contributed 16. Gaurav Chakraborty of Brahmaputra hauled four wickets for 14 runs and Mahbubul Haq scalped three for nine.

Tomorrow, Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre will clash with St John’s English School and Naharkatia CA will meet City Cricket Coaching Centre in group league matches.
