Rebels held

Dhubri, Dec. 16: Two surrendered Ulfa rebels, Jyoti Chandra Nath, 32, of Noontala village of Barpeta district and Dilip Kumar Rai, 38, of Ujanpetla village under Tamarhat police station of Dhubri district, were apprehended from Halakurahat under Golokganj police station in Dhubri district today.

Book fair

B>n Kokrajhar: The eight-day 12th Bodoland Book Fair will begin on Monday at Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School. Renowned publishers across the country will participate. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary will inaugurate the fair.

Conference

Kokrajhar: A two-day Bodo National Conference will begin at Bodofa Nwgwr near BTC Secretariat on Monday. Over 15,000 delegates and observers representing various Bodo organisations will participate. Political, educational, socio-cultural and economic issues of the Bodos will be discussed.

Vijay Divas

Tezpur: Tezpur-based Gajraj Corps on Sunday observed Vijay Divas to mark India’s victory over Pakistan in 1971. Homage was paid to the martyrs on the occasion.
