Nitish poultry advice

Patna, Dec. 15: Chief minister Nitish Kumar today stressed the need to encourage setting up of poultries and breeding of sheep and goats by farmers to increase their income. He was addressing a meeting of the animal husbandry department. hief secretary A.K. Sinha said the promotion of poultry, goat and sheep breeding was an significant part of the agriculture roadmap. He said the government would give financial support to farmers for it.

Murder

Patna: Criminals killed Raj Kumar Paswan, the mukhiya (panchayat head) of Khudwa panchayat under Obra block in Aurangabad district, late on Friday night.

Arrest

Sasaram: Three persons were arrested from the Dehri police station area on Saturday for their alleged involvement in a robbery in the house of one Durga Devi on November 21 night. The persons have been identified as Mohammad Kurban, Santosh Kumar and Sangeet Kumar, all residents of Rohtas. Two of their associates managed to escape.

Durbar

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumarís janata durbar would be held next Monday at 1 Aney Marg. A government press note said complaints of several departments, including road construction, rural development, panchayati raj, urban development and transport, would be heard.

Salary cut

Patna: Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Ltd deputy general manager H.R. Pandey on Saturday said the company has decided to withhold a part of salary of field officials across the state on account of shortfall in revenue collection in November 2012.
