Mercury dip

Calcutta, Dec. 15: Calcutta’s minimum temperature started to dip again today and is expected to touch 14 degrees Celsius by Tuesday.

The minimum temperature today was 19 degrees Celsius. “With the humidity normalising gradually, the mercury should climb down steadily,” a Met official said.

Murder cuffs

Bolpur: CID sleuths have arrested Mangal Sahani, the prime accused in the murder of a 78-year-old Bhowanipore resident in Santiniketan, in January.

Road death

Calcutta: A 60-year-old pedestrian in Haridevpur, near Tollygunge, was mowed down by a car carrying guests leaving a marriage ceremony after an altercation with members of a local club over bursting firecrackers.
